Alternate History Byzantine Empire

Short History of Byzantine Empire. A brief history of rise and fall of Byzantium. Foundation of Constantinople by Constantine. This is essentially a modern day Byzantium, whose tale is altered in the battle of menzikert in 1066. Over the years, through a series of competent emperors from all walks of life (Byzantine politics also become more meritocratic during this stage, due to an influx of ambitious young nobles from conquered territories), the Byzantine empire regains much of its lost territory, eventually. This is an alternate history map that depicts the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantium) and neighbouring states in 1300. The premise is that the Fourth Crusaders never arrive in Constantinople, sparing the City and her inhabitants from the terrible and tragic sack that shattered the Empire. George Finlay's History of the Byzantine Empire from 716 to 1057, published in 1857, was the first occasion of 'Byzantine Empire' being used in a. The scenario of a Byzantine Empire surviving until the Great War is fully explored in Alexander Rooksmoor's latest AH novel Byzantine Express. 5 August, 1914 - Byzantine Empire Joins the Great War T he clash of rival Empires known to alternate history as the Great War rapidly escalated when Byzantium opened hostilities on the Central Powers.

The entire history of the Ottoman Empire (All Parts) - 1299 - 1922
The Ottoman Empire was founded circa 1299 by Osman I in northwestern Asia Minor, south of the Byzantine capital Constantinople. The Ottomans crossed into Europe in 1352, moving their capital to Adrianople in 1369. They expanded in Asia Minor by annexing many small Turkic beylics.
They conquered Constantinople in 1453, and then expanded deep into Europe, northern Africa, and the Middle East. The Ottoman territory increased exponentially under Sultan Selim I, who assumed the Caliphate in 1517 as the Ottomans defeated the Mamluks of Egypt and annexed western Arabia, Egypt, Mesopotamia, and the Levant. Within the next few decades, much of the North African coast became part of the Ottoman realm. Slowly after many wars and internal problems, the Ottoman sultanate started to crumble. Загружено 2 апреля 2021
The history of the ancient Khazar Empire, a major but almost forgotten power in Eastern Europe, which in A.D. 740 converted to Judaism. Khazaria, a conglomerate of Aryan Turkic tribes, was finally wiped out by the forces of Genghis Khan, but evidence indicates that the Khazars themselves migrated to Poland and formed the cradle of Western (Ashkenazim) Jewry...
The Khazars' sway extended from the Black sea to the Caspian, from the Caucasus to the Volga, and they were instrumental in stopping the Muslim onslaught against Byzantium, the eastern jaw of the gigantic pincer movement that in the West swept across northern Africa and into Spain.
Thereafter the Khazars found themselves in a precarious position between the two major world powers: the Eastern Roman Empire in Byzantium and the triumphant followers of Mohammed.
As Arthur Koestler points out, the Khazars were the Third World of their day, and they chose a surprising method of resisting both the Western pressure to become Christian and

Historians debate whether the Comanche Empire was truly an empire. Maybe that’s because Comanche society didn’t have some of the features of most empires. Maybe it was because scholars have historically been blind to the idea of empires created by indigenous Americans. So what exactly counts as an empire? Like the Mongol Empire, the Comanche Empire was formed by nomadic pastoralists. Using horses to trade, hunt, raid, and fight, the Comanche Empire became a formidable force that supported a robust trading network.

6:33 - Alternative History of the Great War - Victory of the Russian Empire
Загружено 16 марта 2021
Welcome dear viewers!
This new video is about an alternative time line where the Tsar is victorious in the first world war:
Here I explain how it happened:
The first years are identical to the Real happenings, but in 1917 the Russian Army concentrates on the Ottoman Empire and forces them into capitulation. The Russian and English Troops occupy the entire Ottoman Empire.
During the February Coup-de-etat of 1917, the Garrison in Petrograd is occupied by unloyal forces.
The Tsar does not abdicate but instead sends his troops to Petrograd to re-take the city.
Now the Tsar concentrates on the Eastern Front and in August to November of 1918, while the Western Allies were starting the 100 days offensive, he prepared a big offensive which would reach Berlin.
When the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Bulgaria capitulated, the Tsar stormed Eastern Prussia and Posen with the help of Polish troops.
By december 8th the Imperial Russian Troops, and its slavic allies arrive in Berlin.

Ancient Greece was a civilization belonging to a period of Greek history that lasted from the Archaic period of the 8th to 6th centuries BC[citation needed] to the end of antiquity (c. 600 AD). Immediately following this period was the beginning of the Early Middle Ages and the Byzantine era.[1] Included in ancient Greece is the period of Classical Greece, which flourished during the 5th to 4th centuries BC. Classical Greece began with the repelling of a Persian invasion by Athenian leadership. Because of conquests by Alexander the Great of Macedonia, Hellenistic civilization flourished from Central Asia to the western end of the Mediterranean Sea.

Discover history’s first empire: Sumer, located in Mesopotamia, which built the world’s first cities and created the first writing system.
--
History’s first empire rose out of a hot, dry landscape, without rainfall to nourish crops, without trees or stones for building. In spite of all this, its inhabitants built the world’s first cities, with monumental architecture and large populations— and they built them entirely out of mud. Soraya Field Fiorio details the rise and fall of the Sumerian empire.

Загружено 15 сентября 2020
Elam was a region in the Near East corresponding to the modern-day provinces of Ilam and Khuzestan in southern Iran (though it also included part of modern-day southern Iraq) whose civilization spanned thousands of years from c. 3200 - c. 539 BCE. The name comes from the Akkadian and Sumerian words for “highlands” or “high country” while the Elamites referred to their land as Haltami (or Haltamti) which seems to have had the same meaning.
In this episode we follow the rise and fall of one of the earliest and greatest civilizations and cultures in human history.
